Using Feminine Energy

Reaching for that second cup of coffee already? Before you fill up on more caffeine, listen to this episode first!

As female business owners and CEOs, you are constantly under immense pressure to perform. Not only are you expected to deliver quality care to your clients, but you are also expected to be the senior practitioner, the team leader, the mom, and the loving partner.

You feel like you have to do it all and be everything to everyone.

But here’s the truth: The secret to high productivity and performance isn’t by adding more action items on your to-do list—it’s by drawing on your feminine energy.

When you listen to this episode, you will find out what I mean =)

In this episode, I speak with Melissa Keenan, an intimacy coach who helps high-powered women to receive pleasure without limits.

Over the course of our discussion, we define what masculine and feminine energy truly are and how mastering these two sides is important for increasing productivity for female CEOs.

In addition to coaching, Melissa has a private community where women can find supportive sisterhood.

Show Summary

As business women, we often find ourselves in the public eye, where we are subject to judgment and criticism. It can be easy to become bogged down by these negative opinions, but it's important to remember that they are often rooted in misogyny and outdated ways of thinking. By supporting each other and cultivating a sense of sisterhood, we can rise above these negative forces and create a more positive future for all women.

The key to having a more fulfilling life while still maintaining a high level of performance? You need to find balance between your feminine and masculine energies.

When we talk about “feminine energy” and “masculine energy”, we are referring to ancient concepts that have been around for thousands of years. Essentially, Yin represents the feminine principle of being, while Yang represents the masculine principle of getting into action. In our society, we tend to live in a masculine-oriented world. This is apparent from a young age; we are encouraged to be focused and driven, and congratulated for our accomplishments and progress.

The feminine side of this equation is often neglected and frowned upon. Feminine energy is associated with qualities such as receptivity, intuition, compassion and connection. In order to create a more balanced society, it is important to learn to embrace both sides of this equation. When we can do this, we can tap into a more creative and holistic way of being for ourselves and our practices.

In order to achieve success, it is essential that we nurture our own feminine energy. This does not mean that we need to sacrifice our strength or power; rather, it means that we should embrace our femininity and use it as a source of strength.

As you pursue your new growth strategy of harmony and balance, here are some key points to keep in mind:

  1. No matter how good your intention is or how much something makes sense at the time, the “extreme” of anything is too much. For providers, you got into this profession to help people. But when you allow that drive to define your identity, that’s when you are unable to separate yourself from your work. That’s when you truly are in danger of losing yourself. Or when you are always on the go without ever taking any time to slow down to reflect, then you are going to feel drained and exhausted. There has to be a good balance in everything you do.

2. Masculine and feminine energy has nothing to do with sexual orientation or preference. Every person on the planet has both. The masculine, also known as yang, is known as the energy of action. This is what you most commonly see in female CEO’s who are always running from one place to another. The feminine, also known as yin, is the energy of being. When you take a mental break and check in with your gut, that is the true feminine energy rising to the surface. To be happy and full of energy, you need a good balance of both.

3. Slowing down and checking in with yourself is beneficial for your health and your business. When you connect with your intention on a daily basis, you are better able to see where you are with your goals, what can be cut out of your schedule and what, if any, solutions can get you there faster.

4. One early indicator that your masculine and feminine energies are off-balance is when you no longer feel excited about your practice, which started because you love helping people. The moment you don’t have that drive anymore, check in with yourself and redirect.

5. Setting boundaries around your personal time and energy is one of the best ways to stay in harmony with your masculine and feminine energies. This means protecting your personal time when you’re off-hours, saying “no” more often, and being firm with protecting what you do and do not want to do.

When we nurture our feminine energy, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities. We become more creative, expressive, intuitive, and loving individuals who are better able to achieve success both personally and professionally. So go out there and start nurturing your feminine energy today! You'll be glad you did.
